From this standpoint, Etihad Water and Electricity is keen to spread the culture of safety, occupational health and the environment in order to change personal behavior in safety and environmental practices.
The Health, Safety and Environment Department seeks to provide a safe work environment for all employees to maintain their health and safety, by applying best practices and observing all occupational health and safety requirements. Enhance and raising the level of awareness of employees in various areas of occupational health and safety will contribute to reduce accidents and risks in the work environment.
As part of ETIHAD WATER and ELECTRICITY efforts to achieve environmental sustainability, Health Safety and Environment Department established in 2010. And by adopting the best local and international practices, consistent with the laws and regulations, which contribute to preserve environment and reduce the impact resulting from its operational activities.
Promoting environmental awareness for employees helps to increase their awareness of environmental concepts and motivates them to contribute and participate individually and collectively in protecting the environment and increasing the environmental responsibility through the implementation of an integrated program such as sustainability,environmental innovation and recycling.
The central laboratory in ETIHAD Water and Electricity was established in 1999 in the Emirate of Sharjah, and then it was transferred to the Al-Zawra area in Ajman. It has been established according to best practices in the design and development of a multidisciplinary technical structure capable of strengthening the quality infrastructure in laboratories and working according to the best international standards approved for water testing and issuance of conformity certificates.
The scope of the central laboratory is to examine the quality of produced and distributed water to customers and consumers from the various sectors in the Emirates served by ETIHAD Water and Electricity
The laboratory aims to be the best reference laboratory that keeps pace with the latest technologies, which contributes to enhancing ETIHAD Water and Electricity’s vision to be Pioneers in providing electricity and water services to improve the standard of living and achieve sustainable growth, leading to the vision of the government of the United Arab Emirates to be among the best countries in the world in terms of economic development and social development by the golden jubilee of the Union in 2021.
