EtihadWE Exceeds 1680 Users for Green Charging Stations by End of 2022

Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) has announced that the number of users of its green charging stations for electric vehicles has exceeded 1680 users, according to data recorded at the end of 2022. The company has reported a relative increase in the use of green chargers, which are located in all regions where the company provides its services.

Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, CEO of EtihadWE, stated that the current number of charging stations aligns with the results of the studies conducted to determine the needs of those regions for such chargers in the current stage. He also mentioned that more than 17,000 charging operations were recorded from the beginning of the year until the end of last April.

Al Ali further explained that the project to establish charging stations aims to provide suitable infrastructure that allows for the spread of this type of vehicle and encourages individuals to purchase them and increase reliance on them. He stressed that this aligns with the UAE's direction towards providing sustainable transportation and transitioning to clean energy sources.

EtihadWE is looking forward to adopting the National Strategy for Electric Vehicles, and based on this, more charging stations will be established after identifying the most suitable locations in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.

To encourage the public to rely on electric vehicles, EtihadWE has decided to offer free charging services for all types of electric vehicles.
