Etihad Water and Electricity Company (EtihadWE) has signed an MoU with NIRAS, an engineering consultancy firm. Under this MoU, NIRAS will conduct a series of studies on the water sector in the West Area A (Ajman). The MoU was signed by Eng. Aaref Ahmad Berhama, Executive Director of Water Directorate at EtihadWE, and Eng. Omar Ahmed Maroof, Regional Manager of Water and Utilities at NIRAS.

       The studies will encompass the efficiency of water transmission and distribution networks, methods to reduce technical and financial losses, carbon emissions resulting from production and operational processes, as well as minimizing reliance on costly and environmentally impactful pumping systems by replacing them with more efficient and sustainable alternatives.

       It is worth mentioning that EtihadWE is currently conducting comprehensive studies to assess the efficiency of water networks in all the regions it serves. These studies aim to develop programs and action plans, among other efforts, to minimize technical losses in the network within a few years. This supports the UAE's endeavors to achieve water sustainability and enhance sector efficiency.
