Engineer Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, CEO of Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) welcomed Engineer Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI). They discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation and launch innovative initiatives that positively impact reducing operational costs of energy consumption in industrial establishments within Ajman. They also discussed the main challenges in adopting solar energy technologies in the industrial sector and ways to overcome them, as well as how to support the private sector in adopting sustainable practices in line with the results and recommendations of the COP28 conference.
The meeting was attended by Salem Al Suwaidi, Director-General of ACCI, Mohamed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Member Support Services Sector, Nasser Al Dhafri, Advisor to the Office of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and representatives from major industrial establishments operating in Ajman.
Engineer Yousif Al Ali reaffirmed EtihadWE's commitment to providing supportive and encouraging solutions for the industrial sector. He praised ACCI's efforts in leading joint cooperation between government service providers and private establishments. He also lauded their role in introducing innovative initiatives that support the UAE's objectives and the overall economic sector growth.
Engineer Abdullah Al Muwaiji emphasized EtihadWE's pivotal role in delivering high-quality services, noting that operational costs of energy consumption are fundamental to the expansion plans and sustainability of industrial establishments. He mentioned that the Ajman Government, under the direct guidance and supervision of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, is keen to encourage industrial establishments to use solar energy and organize the connection of distributed renewable energy production units to the electrical grid. This effort supports ACCI's role in educating its private sector members about adopting sustainable solutions for clean and alternative energy usage, achieving sustainable development standards and the green economy.
