Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) Donates 130 Computers and Printers to Emirates Red Crescent (ERC)

05 Sep 2023

In a remarkable display of corporate social responsibility, Etihad Water and Electricity Company (EtihadWE) has contributed significantly to the ‘Donate Your Own Device’ campaign initiated by the Digital School, an initiative by Mohammed bin Rashid Global Initiatives (MBRGI). This global initiative, under the banner ‘Donate to Educate,’ received a generous donation of 130 computers and printers from EtihadWE.

Engineer Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, CEO of the company, emphasized the deep-rooted value of charitable and humanitarian work within the Emirati society. He underscored the enduring legacy of this commitment, starting with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and continuing under the guidance of today's esteemed leaders.

"We at Etihad Water and Electricity are delighted to support the Donate Your Device campaign," Al Ali stated. "Our donation of 100 computers and 30 multi-function printers, all in excellent working condition, aligns with our social responsibility commitment. We are confident that these devices will find their way to those who need and deserve them as the new academic year begins."

Al Ali applauded the efforts of the Emirates Red Crescent, led by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Authority. He praised their consistent endeavors to provide assistance and support, both within the UAE and beyond. These efforts mirror the leadership's vision to sustain charitable and volunteer work in UAE society and bolster its international standing in humanitarian fields.

In response, Mohammed Omar Al-Shammari, Director of the ERC Center in Ajman, expressed his gratitude to Engineer Yousif Ahmed Al Ali. He lauded the Etihad Water and Electricity Company for its ongoing support of community programs and initiatives, highlighting its commitment to youth and society.

Al-Shammari affirmed the Authority's readiness to collaborate with all institutions supporting humanitarian and charitable efforts, while encouraging society members to intensify their humanitarian endeavors, aligning with the core principle of ‘Human First.’

He further noted that the donations made as part of the ‘Donate Your Own Device’ campaign hold significant value for students. This initiative coincides with the launch of the ERC, ‘With Knowledge We Empower,’ aiming to empower children from disadvantaged backgrounds on their educational journey.

Al-Shammari assured that these devices will be distributed to eligible school students, including those from needy, low-income families, people with special needs, and orphans. He extended his best wishes for their success in their educational endeavors.

The ‘Donate Your Own Device’ campaign, a collaboration between the Digital School and the ERC, is part of Mohammed bin Rashid Global Initiatives. Launched in mid-August, it operates under the motto ‘Donate to Educate.’ The campaign seeks to provide 10,000 donated electronic devices in an educational, humanitarian, and environmental initiative that supports students worldwide. It aims to bridge the digital and knowledge gap, ensuring equal access to information and education for all students.
